Honoring Family Through Art: A Mural Project at Lakeview Hills Golf & Resort

At McMath Art, we believe custom artwork can express emotion, memory, and meaning in a way words simply can’t. That belief came to life in a recent project for Lakeview Hills Golf and Resort in Lexington, Michigan, where we were honored to create a series of hand-painted murals celebrating the Fabbri family’s legacy, roots, and future.

This collaboration included 11 original canvases for Emilio’s Steak House and 4 custom murals for Virginia’s Table 1928, the resort’s exclusive new restaurant. Each piece was thoughtfully crafted to reflect the family’s Italian heritage and their deep connection to the Michigan vineyard they now call home.

Emilio’s Steak House: Preserving Family Legacy in San Marino Landscapes

In tribute to the Fabbri family patriarch, Emilio, we created 11 canvas murals for Emilio’s Steak House. These paintings depict meaningful moments from the family’s journey, set against the scenic backdrop of San Marino—their ancestral home.

Each piece is rich with imagery that speaks to family, tradition, and belonging. Together, they offer more than visual appeal—they serve as lasting reminders of the values Emilio passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Virginia’s Table 1928: Venetian Plaster on Venetian Plaster

Inside Virginia’s Table 1928, named in honor of the family matriarch, guests are welcomed into a space unlike any other. Three murals are painted directly on the wall using Venetian plaster on Venetian plaster—a rare and textured technique that brings depth and warmth to the room.

These murals depict Rick, Tom, and Dennis, the three Fabbri brothers who now run the resort, shown alongside landscapes of the Michigan vineyard and San Marino. While Sue, their sister and equal co-owner, is not pictured in the mural series, her presence is deeply felt throughout the resort and the story these artworks tell.

The fourth and most poignant mural—framed between the wine cabinets—features a striking portrait of Virginia and Emilio, symbolizing the lasting presence of their love, vision, and values.

A Lasting Tribute to Family and Place

This mural series goes far beyond decoration. It’s a living tribute to the Fabbri family’s journey—honoring where they’ve come from and where they’re headed. Whether dining at Emilio’s or Virginia’s Table 1928, guests are surrounded by more than art—they’re immersed in a story of family, identity, and connection.
